Starlink Mini Performance Data: Real-world Testing
Hey Starlink community!
I wanted to share some interesting performance data I've gathered for the Starlink Mini across different usage scenarios. These tests were conducted across the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, and France.
Key Observations:
- The best performance comes from the Mini mounted on a van roof (aligned) with impressive speeds of 250/47.2 Mbps (down/up)
- Standard home setup averages 148 Mbps download, which is quite respectable
- Interesting to see how misalignment affects performance - drops to about 96.76 Mbps average download
- Mobile performance (backpack/dashboard) stays surprisingly usable at 53-95 Mbps download
Some questions to kick off the discussion:
- Has anyone else tested their Mini in motion? How do your speeds compare?
- I'm particularly curious about train performance - my data is incomplete there. Anyone have experience using Mini during train travel?
- For van/RV users - are you seeing similar speeds with the roof mount setup?
- Urban vs rural users - how do these numbers compare to your experience?
Feel free to share your own speed tests and use cases. It would be great to build a larger dataset of real-world performance!!
